What do you charge?

We have a range of services that we provide, from photography to printing to album design. Because of this, pricing varies depending on the service and package. But, since I know that wasn't the answer you were looking for, I'll be more specific!!

Hourly photo sessions:

• $50 (weekday rate)
• $65 (evening/weekend rate).
• You can expect to receive about 30-60 images/proofs per hour of shooting.

Prints:

• 4x6 - $0.75
• 5x7 - $4
• 8x10 - $7
• 8x12 - $8
• 11x14 - $12
• 12x18 - $22
• other sizes available upon request

Canvas: 11x14 from $40 (other sizes available upon request)

Albums:

• From $300 and up
• Additional pages $15-$20 each
• Options: leather cover, metallic pages, size, and paper type

Wedding packages:

• Start at $975 for photography coverage as needed, add-on prints/albums extra
• Custom packages are available if you require more or less coverage

Are color images the same price as black and white?

In most cases yes. When I'm doing the post-processing of the photos I can either do the color adjustments in color or black and white as long as I know ahead of time what you want. Usually I will create some black and white and some color photos for every session, based on what looks best for the particular image.

Is editing included, or is it extra?

There are two levels of editing that I do. The first level is included with all packages and hourly sessions. The second is extra and is charged by the hour. For most people's needs, the answer is "yes" it's included because the first level is enough. For weddings, there is usually some extra editing that people like to get done. Here's how it works

Level 1: "Retouching"
All photo sessions include retouching to make your photos look their best. This includes things like red-eye removal, sharpening, color adjustments, and cropping if necessary. Some photos may be made into black and white at this stage based on what looks best. This is how the photos will be delivered to you.

Level 2: "Enhancing"
Enhancing is anything beyond retouching that you specifically request to be changed. For example, you may want teeth whitened or blemishes removed. Other examples... there may be a distracting background that you want blurred out (in candid shots, not usually studio shots!), or you may want more/different ones made into black and white or sepia, or you may want your bouquet in color and the rest of the photo in black and white. Photo enhancing is $45/hour. You can use your print credits (from a wedding package) towards enhancing.

If we meet and have a consulation, I will show you some examples of both levels of editing so you can see the difference. Once you see prints, it should be quite clear :)

How much extra, or "Level 2", editing is usually required?

No additional editing beyond the basic retouching will be required in order to have good looking photos. That said, most people want some extra editing done to their favourite 5 to 10 photos in order to really make them stand out. Usually these are the ones that they want enlarged or put in the album to cover a full page spread. Depending on the complexity of the edits requested, it usually takes 15 minutes to 45 minutes per photo. (45 minutes would be complex changes like completely changing the background or cutting out a detailed portion to make color and the rest black and white.) I can show you samples of the different levels of editing if you like during a consultation, but a fair estimate would be 30 mins per photo, and 5 to 10 photos.

What does the "Mayan" theme have do do with your photography?

The name was inspired by my love for the beauty and uniqueness of Mexico and the Mayan Riviera. Your photos will not be Mayan 'themed', but I will strive to capture your day's beauty in its own unique way.

Where are you located?

I am based in Abbotsford, BC and will happily travel to North Vancouver, White Rock, Langley, Chilliwack and anywhere in between for your photo session. (Note: A small travel fee of $15-$25 may apply to locations outside Abbotsford.) Other locations outside the Fraser Valley or Lower Mainland: Whistler, Vancouver Island, Kamloops etc. please inquire for a personal quote on travel fees.

Can I hire you to take photos of something not listed under your "services" page?

Yes. These are my most popular services, but I can take photos of almost anything. Please feel free to contact me with specifics about your photography project!
