What do you charge?
We provide custom quotes depending on your requirements, time needed and location of photo shoot.
Wedding packages:
- Full packages start at $1830
- Mini packages and off-season rates start under $1000

Photo Albums:
- From $450-$2000 and up, depending on paper type, cover, pages numbers etc.
- Options: leather cover, acrylic cover, metallic pages, various sizes
Hourly photo sessions:
- $225 (weekdays)
- Generally 20-40 images/proofs per hour of shooting.
Prints:
- Range from $2 to $25 and up
- Mounted canvas prints start at $160

Are color images the same price as black and white?
In most cases yes. When I'm doing the post-processing of the photos I can either do the adjustments in color or black and white as long as I know ahead of time what you want. Usually I will create some black and white and some color photos for every session, based on what looks best for the particular image. If you decide after receiving all your images that you want them all made into black and white as well, there would be an extra charge to do so.
Is editing included, or is it extra?
There are two types of editing that I do. The first type is "techinical retouching" and is included with all packages and hourly sessions. The second is "artistic effects" which is usually a special request and is charged by the hour.
Type 1: "Techinal Retouching"
All photo sessions include my artist's eye looking at them and enhancing them to make your photos look great. Some photos may be made into black and white or sepia at this stage based on what looks best. This is how the photos will be delivered to you. Technical enhancements also includes things like color corrections, white balance adjusments, cropping, tone and exposure adjustments and some black and white, sepia and vintage conversions.
Type 2: "Artistic Effects"
Artistic effects are anything beyond the technical retouching that you specifically request to be changed, and is generally a change to the subject matter. For example, you may want wrinkles "ironed out" on your dress, or eyes opened in a blinking shot, your skin made flawless in a close up shot, or your teeth whitened. Other examples... there may be something or someone in the background that you want blurred out, or you may want your bouquet in color and the rest of the photo in black and white. Artistic retouching is $60/hour. You can use your print credits towards this any retouching.
How much Artistic Retouching is usually required?
No additional editing beyond the technical retouching will be required in order to have great looking photos. That said, many people want some extra editing done to their favourite photos in order to really make them stand out. Usually these are the ones that they want enlarged or put in the album to cover a full page spread. Depending on the complexity of the edits requested, it usually takes 10 minutes to 45 minutes per photo. (45 minutes would be complex changes like completely changing the background or cutting out a detailed portion to make color and the rest black and white.)
What does the "Mayan" name have do do with your photography?
The name was inspired by my love for the beauty and uniqueness of Mexico and the Mayan Riviera. When I have some time after this busy wedding season, I'll post some photos from my travels to that area. Your photos will not be Mayan 'themed' of course, but I will strive to capture your day's beauty in its own unique way.
Where are you located?
I am based in Chilliwack, BC and will travel to North Vancouver, White Rock, Langley, Abbotsford and anywhere in between for your wedding or photo session. I am happy to provide no obligation meetings to discuss your wedding or photography ideas, but due to the nature of these being free consultations, please be prepared to meet with me in Chilliwack. Other locations outside the Fraser Valley or Lower Mainland: Whistler, Vancouver Island, Kamloops etc. please inquire for a personal quote on travel fees. During the winter months, you will usually find me in Mexico somewhere - perhaps Playa del Carmen or Cabo San Lucas - two of my favourite spots.
